Who Should Apply? The Requirements

This role is designed for an enthusiastic individual ready to begin their professional engineering journey. The key requirements are:

  • A National Diploma in Engineering or a relevant qualification.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Special Note: No previous work experience is required, making this an ideal entry-level position.
  • Current/Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Candidate Engineering Technician.

Desired Skills & Knowledge:

  • A willingness to learn and provide technical support under supervision.
  • Basic understanding of project management, engineering design, and computer-aided applications.
  • Knowledge of legal compliance and OHS regulations.
  • Strong planning, organising, and problem-solving skills.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Candidate Engineering Technician, you will be integral to the naval engineering team. Your duties will include:

  • Rendering technical services and support in engineering research, design, manufacturing, operations, and maintenance under supervision.
  • Preparing and maintaining a Portfolio of Learning to manage your training process.
  • Undertaking Research and Development activities.
  • Performing essential administrative functions.
  • Strictly adhering to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations.
