About the Internship Programme
The Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP) is a prestigious initiative guided by the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Act 56 of 2003. Its primary goal is to build essential capacity within the financial management functions of municipalities, ensuring good governance and sound financial practices. As an intern, you will be integrated into the core operations of the municipality, gaining hands-on experience that will set the foundation for a successful career.
Internship Position Details
- Position Title: Finance Management Grant Intern (x1 post)
- Department: Office of the Municipal Manager
- Annual Stipend: R91,275.60
- Contract Duration: 2 Years
- Location: Ngqushwa Municipality, Peddie, Eastern Cape, South Africa
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this transformative opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma with majors in one of the following fields:
- Internal Auditing
- Accounting
- Risk Management and/or Auditing
- Must be between the ages of 21 and 35.
- Willingness to sign an internship agreement in addition to the standard employment contract.
- Demonstrate a commitment to full participation in all educational and workplace assignments.
- Understand and adhere to all workplace policies and procedures.
