Do You Have What It Takes? Requirements
To be considered for this rewarding management role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A recognized undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6).
- A qualification in Human Resource Management, Public Management, or Public Administration is a strong advantage.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience, with at least three (3) years at a Lower Management or Supervisory level (Level 7/8).
- A valid driver’s license (unless exempted due to a disability).
The ideal candidate will possess critical competencies in Knowledge Management, Programme and Project Management, and Client Orientation. Essential knowledge includes:
- Government policies and the Public Service Regulatory Framework.
- HRD processes, methods, and procedures.
- Excellent report writing, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Computer literacy in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Your Key Responsibilities: Duties
As the Assistant Director, your core function will be to lead and coordinate the department’s efforts in nurturing new talent. Your duties will include:
- Coordinating the implementation of all Developmental Programmes (Learnerships and Internships) within the Department.
- Facilitating the identification of mentors to support interns and learners, fostering a nurturing environment for growth.
- Overseeing the implementation of the Professional Developmental Programme.
- Conducting comprehensive induction programmes for new interns and learners.
- Managing the allocated resources of the sub-directorate efficiently and effectively.
