Who Should Apply?

This programme is designed for unemployed South African graduates who meet the following criteria:

  • Are between the ages of 18 and 35.
  • Hold a National Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Safety Management from a recognised South African institution.
  • Have completed their theoretical studies and require experiential training to obtain their full qualification.
  • Have NOT participated in any previous internship programme.

  1. Use the Correct Form: Download the new Z83 application form from the DPSA website or the Department of Water and Sanitation’s website under ‘Career Opportunities’.
  2. Complete the Z83 Form: Fill in every section of the form completely. Failure to disclose all required information will lead to automatic disqualification.
  3. Submit Your Application: Email your Z83 form and a comprehensive CV (quoting the reference number 240125/17 in the subject line) to: [email protected]

Important Note: Do not submit certified copies of your qualifications, ID, or other documents with your initial application. These will only be required from shortlisted candidates later in the process, as per DPSA circular 19 of 2022.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to thorough suitability checks, including:

  • SAQA verification of qualifications
  • Reference checks
  • Criminal record checks
  • Credit checks

If you have foreign qualifications, you must provide an SAQA evaluation certificate upon being shortlisted.
