Position Details

  • Salary: R308,154 – R362,994 per annum (Level 07). A performance agreement is required.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A Matric Certificate.
  • A three-year National Diploma in Internal Audit or an equivalent NQF level 6 qualification.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an Internal Audit environment.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) audits will be a distinct advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of:

  • International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (ISPPIA)
  • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations
  • Public Service Regulations and Public Service Act
  • International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Recognized Accounting Standards
  • Auditor General Processes and Procedures
  • DPSA ICT and Governance Framework

Additionally, you must be computer literate and have strong communication and numerical skills. The ability to work under pressure, flexibility, and self-confidence are essential.

Note: All shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake two pre-entry assessments: a practical exercise and an integrity (Ethical Conduct) assessment.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

  • Participating in the development of strategic and annual internal audit plans.
  • Assisting with audit planning, executing audit projects, and preparing findings from fieldwork.
  • Performing follow-up audits to ensure recommendations are implemented.
  • Evaluating the department’s controls and objectives to support efficient operations.
  • Staying updated on new developments in the internal audit field.
  • Providing general administrative support for audit activities.
